Change in Order to Survive...The Professional and Personal Challenges of Starting a Business in a Recession

Please allow me to introduce myself as Michael A. Graves. I am a Business Development and Communications Executive, as well as a Sports Radio Talk Show Host. I am seeking speaking engagements where I can share my story and experience over the past 25 years. My topics center around, how to best monetize the strength of one's network and personal brand at scale, while overcoming challenges; business, personal, financial, medical, and physical, and emotional.
I am uniquely qualified for this opportunity because I have had both tremendous success, and overcome many setbacks, over the past decade and a half. For the past 9 years I have owned and operated a National Boutique Marketing firm in NYC, where I have helped to raise millions of dollars in Private Equity, Philanthropy, and Business Development.
I am a former CMO and SVP of Sales, for a multi-million-dollar media company in NYC, and prior to that, the SVP and GM, of a Fortune 50 consumer goods Corporation, in Washington, D.C. I hold a BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania; Walter Annenberg School of Communications, and I have over 20 years of C-Suite experience.
I have led a blessed life in many ways, through family, parenting my own 2 daughters, school, business and sports as well; as a starting Nose Tackle on PENN's 1986 (10-0) undefeated Ivy League Championship Football Team. I have also experienced tremendous losses, challenges, and struggles in those same arenas; Maternal grief, Paternal illness, divorce, separation from children, 12 knee surgeries, gastric bypass surgery and recovery.
