She maneuvered dual careers as elected official and business owner, and acquired a front row seat in America's most challenging movements and controversies. As a leader of public policy she influenced the trends making headlines today. As a CEO, she supervised economic and behavioral systems in the areas of institutional leadership, sexual harassment and success driven outcomes sure to please top CEO's and grandmother as well.
Tootie has enjoyed leadership positions as a first Republican woman elected to several high level positions in Democrat dominated Oregon. She was an owner of several corporations, newspaper editor, executive director of nonprofit, an inn keeper and lobbyist. As such, she knows what it feels like to be an underdog while gaining success as a woman in a man's world.
She offers common sense viewpoints through her published book, "Pay-to-Play: Sexual Harassment American Style," where she speaks to both men and women about the reasons why America finds herself suffering a spiritual crisis. She speaks on women's leadership and gives solutions to the problems most leaders want to ignore. As a speaker, she offers workshops and mentorship programs.
Raised on farm in rural Oregon, she learned the value of hard work, respect and kindness. She currently resides on the same family farm her parents purchased in 1959, with her husband of 40 years. They grow hazelnuts and Tootie is a beekeeper in her spare time. She is currently writing her second book, a guide for public service called, "How Do You Like Your Eggs"© due for publication in 2019.
