Julie Salisbury is the Dyslexic publisher.
Dyslexia is her gift. She only discovered the label three years ago when she was helping a writer publish their book about Dyslexia. When she was identified as dyslexic she told the author "that's not good for business!"
Would Julie have been a publisher today If she had been given that label at school in the 70's'? She just thought she was behind the other kids and needed to work harder, because that's what her father told her. She did work harder, a lot harder, and because of it, she excelled in Business College and succeeded very early in her career in product development. By the age of 32, she had it all, but felt deeply unhappy because she was not sure what she been working so hard for.
She wanted to know her purpose, her gift, so she set off to travel around the world, leaving behind the UK, her family, husband and signing over her million dollar house.

She travelled for 7 years, circumnavigating the globe, and it gave her lots of material for a book. Even though she never considered herself a writer, she dove into the process in the same way she would launch a new product in her product development career. It was not until 3 years ago when she discovered she was dyslexic that she realized this process came easy to her because of it.

She discovered Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Albert Einstein and 95% of all architects are all dyslexic! Dyslexia is a whole mind thinking process that jumps to the end result and then brings order to the chaos of getting there. Our minds sometimes jump over letters as we rush to the end.
The unique process she used to write her book was then developed into a program she called InspireABook. The process jumps to the end result of the book and then steps you through a simple method to bring order to the chaos of all the elements of the story. Salisbury discovered thousands of people who didn't think they were "good enough" to transform their story into a book. In fact, she found a publishing industry that was not very supportive to those with compelling stories to tell. "I found publishing an elitist group of people that loved telling people that their story is "not good enough". So I started a publishing company."
Her dyslexic gift allowed her to inspire hundreds of people to write their books and share their stories.
Ten years later she now stands on the stage having published close to a hundred books, even some celebrities such as Theo Fleury, the hockey player.
She is the founder of Influence Publishing and InspireABook, award winning speaker (Golden Gavel 2008) and International TV and Radio guest. She won the distinguished awards Women of Creativity and Spirit Success and Soul. She is the author of "Around the World in Seven Years - A life changing journey."
