SC, USFred Grooms is a decorated veteran Army officer, bestselling author, entrepreneur, and speaker. He has trained thousands of young people in the basic leadership skills necessary to lead themselves and others.
Patriotism comes naturally for Fred. He has a long family history of military service. However, becoming an Army officer wasn't easy. As a dyslexic, Fred struggled throughout his schooling; literally having to talk his way into the leading Senior Military University in the nation. He graduated as a distinguished military graduate, and earned his commission as an officer.
After serving in the military, Fred went on to complete his Master's degree in business marketing, and in education. He worked to build a new business unit for a Fortune 25 company. Fred developed employment needs for adults with mental disabilities, created a successful consulting and coaching business, and has been a middle and high school educator.
In his presentations, you'll learn B.A.S.I.C. leadership skills, leadership hacks, and how to identify your personal expertise. As a bestselling author, Fred has two books that contain much of his experience, passion and stories. Who's In Charge of Bob? Moving from Ordinary to Extraordinary, and his newest book; B.A.S.I.C. The Student Leadership Field Manual, Leadership Lessons for Every Student.
On stage you'll witness his military flare when he physically engages the audience, and through his funny, but clean, Army stories. Be ready to get on your feet, call cadence, and be inspired to take command.
Fred has a passion for backpacking and flyfishing. He once had a bear encounter that was so close the bear was able to sniff the back of his head.
Being a husband and father of two teenage children is his greatest passion.
