NJ, USMr. Canning has been a change agent in the area of municipal and personnel management, having been a supervisor or executive since 1989. He has progressively lead and solved organizational problems over a 31 year municipal career.
From 2004-2009 Mr. Canning led a mid sized police department out of a crisis and into New Jersey accredited status.
He also led the Borough of Lincoln Park, New Jersey through the recession of 2008-2009, and the Township of Mount Olive's 165 person workforce turnaround since 2012, departing Mount Olive October 2015.
He is currently the founding member and CEO of The Canning Group LLC, one of New Jerseys' fastest growing municipal consulting firms,
He currently provides management seminars and guest speaking throughout the state and statewide conventions. He instructs for Rutgers University Center for Government Services.
