"I could say some nice things, but proof is always better. I have arranged about 50 conferences in the last 10 years. And there are typically about 30 speakers at each one, if you include breakout sessions. Of those approximately 1500 speakers, none of them has ever scored as high on our review survey as Doug Lansky. "

Creative Problem Solving

Hotels, tour leaders, and attractions around the world have similar issues. And many have come up with some brilliant and simple solutions for the most common problems (avoiding bad reviews on TripAdvisor, solving staffing issues, and many more). Doug shares some of these to get things rolling, then asks for issues and solutions from the room. Gradually Doug takes a step back and the room takes over, asking and answering many of their own questions, which is exactly the point of the exercise....

Doug recently served as one of the keynote speakers at the 2016 South Dakota Governor's Conference on Tourism and his presentation was a homerun! The feedback from our nearly 600 attendees has been nothing but positive and full of high praise. Doug's presentation on what destinations are doing right/ wrong - and the relevance/irrelevance of DMOs in the world today - was humorous, educational, thought-provoking, and engaging. Without telling the audience whether or not what they were doing was right or wrong, his examples of what DMOs around the country are doing to attract visitors - and elevate their experiences while in their destinations - resulted in a lot of self-reflection. Doug's presentation forced attendees to think about the effectiveness of their marketing tactics and strategies. Our conference committee could not have been more pleased with Doug's dynamic and thoughtful presentation. We highly recommend him as a keynote speaker and look forward to bringing him back to our conference in the future.

I've had the great pleasure of working with Doug in connection with the TEDx Stockholm Differentia 2015 event. Doug combines a great sense of humor with a strong knack for story telling. I highly recommend reading and watching whatever creation his quick mind produces.
