The Left Bench

Kofie Yeboah and Michael Stern WILL teach you their methods of leadership and how to tap into the millenial mind.

The Left Bench was launched in 2013 by five University of Maryland freshmen as a blog covering sports of all sorts. Since our beginning, the staff has grown and our focus has changed. Now, The Left Bench focuses heavily on high school athletics and recruiting while still staying true to what we started out covering: professional and college sports.

One thing has not changed. The staff has spent enough time on the sidelines and now brings unique, intelligent, and witty insights to the wide world of sports for those on the field, those in the stands, and those playing "left bench."

Our Mission: The Left Bench strives to report on athletics and recruiting in a way that highlights the people who play the sports and their stories to provide sports fans with a unique and comprehensible perspective of professional, college, and high school athletics.
The site has a partnership with The Washington Post and Sports Illustrated.
