Allen Bohl
Dr. Allen Bohl is a native of Vermilion, Ohio. He earned a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University in1970, a master's in education from the University of Southern Mississippi in1973, and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in1978.
His extensive career in athletic administration began as an Assistant Athletic director at Ohio State, and then continued as Athletic Director at the University of Toledo, Fresno State, and the University of Kansas. For nearly 25 years, Bohl provided impressive leadership for athletic programs across the nation.
In addition, Allen serves on the Community in Schools Board for St. Johns County and the Board of Governors for The Ohio State University Alumni Association for Northeast Florida. He also is a trustee for the Grace United Methodist Church in St. Augustine and a former board member of the Boys and Girls Club Board of St. Johns County. In 2006, Bohl was inducted into the Vermilion High School Hall of Fame and in 2007, he was honored as a member of the Erie County Gallery of Achievers.
Al and his wife, Sherry, live in St. Augustine, Florida where he is working on his third novel, Over the Oak...and playing golf!! They have two sons, Brett and Nathan, and a daughter, Heidi Sherwin. They are also the proud grandparents of four grandsons and four granddaughters.
