During her nursing career, Nancy Banfield Johnson, MSN, RN, ANP has worked in psychiatry, public health, adult and geriatric primary care and long-term care.

She has been a staff and charge nurse, nurse supervisor and manager, a nationally certified adult nurse practitioner and a certified MDS Coordinator.

Her teaching experience includes being a staff development instructor, a continuing education instructor for CNAs, LPNs and RNs and a faculty member for family practice residents, undergraduate nursing students and graduate nurse practitioner students.

She has edited nursing books, published professional nursing articles and wrote a monthly column, called "Aging Redefined."

Nancy wrote her first book, Catching Critical Changes: Six Essential Steps to Effective Nursing Assessment to show nurses how to apply a step-by-step process to make crucial nursing assessments to prevent missing critical changes in their adult and elderly patients.

Nancy received her BSN from Cornell University/New York School of Nursing and her MSN in Medical and Surgical Nursing, Adult Primary Care and Clinical Nurse Specialist from Syracuse University.
