Meet Pastor Sabra 

Pastor Sabra Johnson is an Inspirational Life Coach, Speaker, Author, and Pastor of City of Faith Church in Houston, Texas. He has a passion for reaching the underserved and often overlooked men, women, teens, and children in need of direction and a strong biblical foundation on which to succeed in life.

Originally from Georgia, Pastor Sabra Johnson began his pastoral journey at the young age of 12 as a Junior Deacon in his hometown church. The grandson of a preacher, he had an enthusiasm to learn and meditate on God's word. At the age of 18, he started his ministry teaching biblical principles to local youth. As a volunteer evangelist at a Youth Detention Center, Pastor Sabra was able to present the biblical word to troubled teens using life applications and real-life circumstances. This ability to personally connect with others to share God's word was the foundation on which Pastor Sabra was able to build his work as a lead urban ministry coordinator at Young Life International. As part of this organization, he was able to minister to youth and young adults throughout Georgia and South Carolina. He became a licensed Baptist minister at the age of 23 and spent the next few years developing his ministry while serving as a local youth ministry pastor. Here Pastor Sabra developed skills to help individuals reach their life purpose through personal coaching. 

After successfully reaching many youth and teens, Pastor Sabra felt in his heart that it was time to pastor his own church. He followed the desire that God had placed on the inside of him and after a period of prayer and meditation, he became the senior pastor of a historic Baptist church just outside of Augusta, Georgia. In this role, Pastor Sabra's passion to reach the overlooked grew and he not only served as a lead pastor but as a keynote crusade evangelist and poweerful life coach. He met countless people, each with their story of hardship and pain, followed by their testimony of hope and salvation.

Whether he was teaching at the pulpit, in a stadium, hospital, or even street corner, Pastor Sabra spoke from his heart and followed the lead of the Holy Spirit. To this day, as pastor of City of Faith Church, he does not use a manuscript or reference sermon notes. Pastor Sabra can be found at each lesson with a bible in his hand, speaking freely with the intent to inspire his congregation and preach God's ever living word.

Pastor Sabra Johnson truly has a divine gift to present biblical teachings through real-life applications. He is a life coach like no other. He takes his personal experiences and engages listeners. His ability to connect with others on a personal, one-on-one, level and his honesty and integrity make him an exciting preacher, life coach and motivational speaker. Pastor Sabra believes that life is a canvas upon which we can learn and he applies this philosophy in his lectures, speeches, and sermons.

Today, Pastor Sabra, along with a faithful group of Houstonians, has created City of Faith Church. Together, they share Pastor Sabra's vision to create a church that is open to all who enter in order to spread the message of God's love to anyone and everyone willing to listen. City of Faith Church continues to grow and expand and is envisioned as the next big move of God in Houston, Texas. In addition to weekly service, life classes, and one-on-one mentoring and coaching, Pastor Sabra is offering sanctuary and hope to the people of Houston and beyond. He has created a place that welcomes all and is deeply routed in the word of God.
