Nick Buettner is committed to informing, inspiring and connecting people and ideas. His work with the Blue Zones expedition team provided him a first hand, in person glimpse of these Blue Zones -- places that have the greatest life expectancy and where more people reach age 100 than anywhere else in the world. Using National Geographic photography and a dynamic, storytelling delivery, Nick takes audiences to these longest-lived cultures, shares his own observations from the field, and provides your group with ideas to immediately increase their own well-being.

As a leader on the Blue Zones team, Nick lead all field operations and collaborated with Good Morning America, CNN, AOL, WCCO and the National Geographic Channel.Blue Zone Team representative for the Blue Zone Project in Iowa, who's goal is to take the lessons learned in the Blue Zones and bring them to communities in the United States.

 

  • Owner of Flying Pencil Productions, a provider of innovative, cross-media learning experiences that empower students to explore and improve the world around them. Flying Pencil's mission is to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning, discovery, and understanding.

 

  • COO and Spokesperson for FoolProof Financial Education Systems, Inc. which provides consumers tough, unique, interactive financial literacy and consumer information programs.

 

  • Co-created MayaQuest, with Dan Buettner, a first-of-its-kind internet-based education program successfully used in classrooms in all 50 states and 122 countries.

 

  • Conceived, developed and implemented two global educational projects for Minnesota Governors which reached over 1000 schools throughout the state.
