CA, USDeana Pollard Sacks is the Roberson King Professor of Law at Texas Southern University, where she has been a faculty member since 2000. Professor Sacks attended the University of Washington (B.A. 1986), USC Law School (J.D. 1989) and the University of California, Berkeley (LL.M. 1999). Her research has focused on racism and implicit racial bias, children's constitutional rights, the effects of media on children's brain growth, the interplay between the First Amendment and dangerous media, tort law generally, constitutional law generally, and property law generally. Professor Sacks has also taught Mediation for years and Law Office Management, and practiced general civil litigation and employment law in Los Angeles and Seattle before becoming a professor of law. Professor Sacks is a committed athlete who enjoys surfing, skiing, steep mountain hikes, hot yoga, and distance running on a regular basis. Professor Sacks is the host and producer of the forthcoming online talk show, Meet the Professors, where she will interview leading researchers on current topics that affect society and children.
