Jeff Crume

Most of the time you'll find me on stage, in a coffee shop, on a coaching call encouraging and inspiring others. The rest of the time you'll find me on the mountain bike trails enjoying life on a Santa Cruz Hightower.

This first person who inspired me to pursue a career in professional speaking was my Mom. She always told me, “Jeffery, if you could  find someone to pay you to run that mouth of yours, you would have it made.” My mom was also my spiritual mentor. She helped me understand that life was a gift, and that each breath should be honored. She also taught me that I was significant and that I was born for a purpose. 

The second was my early mentor, Jim Rohn. Jim was a self-made millionaire who spent the first half of his life acquiring a fortune and the second half teaching others how he did it. I had the privilege of working with Jim and learning first-hand what it takes to transform one’s life into the life of their dreams. Jim helped open my eyes to see that the major determining factor in how my life worked out was me. He taught me that the key to success was to work harder on myself than I did on my job. I went to work hard on myself that day, and have gone on to build multiple successful businesses, including my current speaking and coaching business, as well as help countless others manifest the life of their dreams.

The third most powerful influence in shaping my profession, has been my work in Hospice and Palliative care. As a Chaplain and Grief and Crisis Counselor, being around death and dying has given me an insatiable desire to live life to the fullest, and help others do the same. I remember visiting a man in his eighties who told me, with tears streaming down his face, “Jeff, I’m dying and I never figured out why I was living.” 

Mark Twain said, “The two most important days of your life is the day you were born and the day you figure out why.”

Being with the dying has opened my eyes to see that many people just exists in this life; never knowing WHY they were born to begin with. My experience in Hospice has fueled my passion to help others discover their “WHY” so they too can unlock their potential and fulfill their destiny. No one should live and die without ever knowing why.
