Retired Marine Corps Major & Business leader provides a unique, first-hand perspective of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon and the leadership lessons learned from that historical event.

        Major Dan Pantaleo is a motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur and retired Marine Corps Officer. His career in the Marine Corps (1985-2005) is punctuated by his service at the Pentagon during the attacks on 9/11/01 where he led recovery operations from 9/11/01 until 9/14/01. His highly successful book, Four Days at the Pentagon, details many of the recovery efforts that occurred at the Pentagon and serves as a template for leadership actions in chaotic, confusing, and crisis situations. The proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the Wounded Warrior Regiment.

      In addition to his service at the Pentagon, Major Pantaleo taught at the U.S. Naval Academy, commanded a detachment of Special Operations Capable (SOC) Marines, and has deployed to numerous countries around the world.  Since retiring from the USMC, Mr. Pantaleo has served as a Director of Operations for BAE Systems, an Adjunct Professor at Strayer University, and a public speaker. His exploits before and after his time in the Marine Corps include running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, completing the USMC marathon in the top 10% of all runners, and winning an NCAA championship in wrestling.

        For the past year, Mr. Pantaleo has traveled throughout the United States to speak at corporate meetings, grade schools, universities, community service organizations, and programs supporting disabled American veterans. His powerful and compelling speeches draw value-added connections from his leadership and life experiences to the missions and goals of the organizations he speaks to. 

          Using his experiences at the Pentagon on 9/11 as a backdrop for leadership actions, Mr. Pantaleo draws relevant and direct correlations of leading in business, community, and academic environments. Whether he's in front of a middle school classroom or thousands in a convention hall, his life's passion is helping each audience on their path towards reaching their highest human potential.

 PERSONAL

            Major Dan Pantaleo is originally from Roseville, Michigan and currently lives in Stafford, Virginia. He is an active member of his church, Stafford Crossing Community Church; is a volunteer wrestling coach and member of the NCAA Hall of Fame for wrestling. Additionally, he holds memberships in the National Speakers Association, the Program Management Institute, and the state of Michigan and Olivet College Halls of Fame. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jacqueline, for the past 27 years and lists being a father to his son and daughter as his greatest accomplishment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Olivet College and a Masters in Systems Management from Capitol College.
