Based in central Alberta, Kathy Masters specializes in the practice of optimizing your horses health and wellness using a variety of techniques.

Kathy is a certified Equine Sports Therapist that is a mobile business, she grew up on a medium size cattle and grain farm. Her father is a horseman, a talented teamster he loves breaking horses to ride, drive, & pack. Her first encounter on the back of a horse at age 6 months & this is where the love & passion began. Her dad drove a pony chuck wagon team for 17 years, she learned feeding, grooming, exercise, cleaning stalls, cooling out of performance horses. When the family was not on the circuit, they did other horse related activities, riding in the mountains, training new horses for the wagon and breaking others to ride, attending 4-H and open shows (English, Jumping & Western) in her preteen and teen years, with many group and private lessons.

Kathy loved the mountains so for one of her first paying jobs she went to work for a guide & outfitter in the Cut Off creek/Clearwater river area. After working for an outfitter she received a job checking pens with some of Alberta's larger feedlots using her horse, in every day riding, roping & cutting cattle out of the pens, treating sick cattle, she loved being able to help animals and learning about health conditions. She continued her experiences with horses by playing with different horse events: cattle penning, sorting, barrel racing, rodeo, polo crosse & attending several different clinics, & lessons (reining, barrel racing, working cow horse, dressage). She took a keen interest in the biomechanics of the horses & what her eyes were drawn to.
Kathy after working many years in the feedlot changed careers and began working for a herbal company called Omega Alpha. She had a hunger for knowledge & a passion to help horses and educate owners about what they can do to benefit their horses. Attending the BC College of Equine Therapy's 2 yr program started her formal education & her lifelong passion of helping horses and people, graduating in 2010. Having attended other courses: Dr. Britt Mills DVM, acupressure course (continuing with Dr. Mills spring & fall for 2 years); Dr. Deb Bennett, Biomechanics; Marijke van de Water, Applied Kinesiology & Nutrition, years of the Alberta Breeders & Horse Owners Conference. She is a certified FIT instructor for basic massage for horse owners. She gives many clinics to youth groups and adult clinics for saddle fit.
