VA, USJeannea Spence has an extensive background in sales and marketing, strategic planning, and client relations, and her journey to becoming a coach began after a master's degree in Organizational Development and a 20-year, fast-paced career as an advertising executive, first at advertising agencies, then her own marketing consulting firm, and finally with publications like National Geographic Traveler, Ladies Home Journal, Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, Girlfriend Getaways, and The History Channel Magazine.
At a time in life when many professionals are starting to think about winding down, Jeannea decided to turn her life upside down by what she calls her “midlife re-creation.” In 2011, she relocated from Atlanta to Richmond, returned to school to achieve her certification as a Leadership Development Coach, became active in her community – volunteering in many capacities including a private coach to women in transition and as a mentor to high school students in the Armstrong Leadership Program. She also founded “In Search of AWE, a women’s networking group with an AWESOME mission: Amazing Women of Excellence: Support. Outreach. Mentoring. Empowerment.
Jeannea has spoken to a variety of groups including the National Association of Women Business Owners – SE VA Chapter, The University of Richmond Continuing Education Dept., Jobs Assistance Ministry, the Project Management Institute – Central Virginia Chapter, and the University of Richmond Chapter of the Delta Gamma Sorority; and her client list includes executives from the state of Virginia Community College system, Louisiana Tourism, Equifax, and ePlus.com. Whether she’s leading coaching circles for professional women or working privately with corporate executives or entrepreneurs, Jeannea has a proven track record for helping her clients align their inner passion and purpose with outer goals and strategies to create leaders who motivate and inspire themselves and others to take positive, sustained momentum toward desired results.
