Management Development Leader, Consultant, Coach and Speaker with 20 plus years experience improving employee success.

I have been working in learning and development a long time, a really long time. But I have to say, I am as passionate and excited as ever and why shouldn't I be. This is an incredibly exciting time to be in this field. Of course, I have been saying that since the beginning of Computer Based Training (CBT), Web Based Training (WBT) and then e-learning and now social media. There is always something exciting going on in this field. Some of the areas that I love working in are the building the learning function, performance management, personal development, learning technologies and almost every other area of learning and development.

My passions revolve around people, learning, business and innovation. I also get really energized about all the key elements of learning and development, talent management, performance management, organizational development or whatever phrase you use to describe all different solutions that improve employee performance. The bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity and this time in L&D is challenging. We need to do more with less, produce solutions that solve performance gaps in less time or real time with a major impact on performance but a minimum impact on the employee.

I am the founder and Chief Strategist for The Hofstetter Group. I was also the Manager, Learning, and Development for New England Organ Bank, located just outside of Boston MA. I was hired to build the learning and development and grow the performance management function. Prior to that, I had my own performance consulting company. I worked for some Fortune 1000 and 500, such as Monster.com, Gillette, Citizens Bank, Fleet Bank, State Street Bank and many others.  Some of the projects I worked on included designing and facilitating sales courses, customer service programs and training engineers and machine operators on a major consumer goods product launch. I also designed and delivered many system implementations. Just to name a few examples. Prior to that, I worked for Tufts Health Plans, a healthcare company in the Boston area where I built the training department for one of the healthcare products when they were just a startup.

I completed my Masters online at Capella University in Organizational Psychology. My undergrad was completed at Northeastern University in Boston with a BS in Business Administration. I have also a certificate from Boston University in Training and Development and I am certified in MBTI (Myers Briggs) and DiSC. I am currently completing a coaching certification program from iPEC coaching.

I am the president of the Central Mass chapter of ATD, as well as a member of ATD national. I can also be found on Twitter @davidhofstetter and LinkedIn at davidhofstetter.
