Ryan Sullivan, a professional speaker and presentation coach, is the founder and president of Train 46 Communications, LLC. Ryan has given more than 2500 talks to date, and has had the privilege of addressing groups in 46 states, DC and Puerto Rico.

A 19-year veteran of the financial services industry, Ryan started Train 46 for the purpose of helping other professionals become more effective communicators. As a former vice president of advanced markets at a FORTUNE 150® company, Ryan specialized in translating complex concepts into simple, actionable ideas. His experience as a presenter, performer, writer, editor, manager and mentor allow him to coach professionals of all types to do the same. Services offered through Train 46 include:

  • professional and executive-level presentation workshops
  • one-on-one consultations
  • speech writing and editing
  • sales and service training
  • interview and speech prep

Ryan is also available as a keynote speaker on a wide range of motivational, financial and educational topics, including business development, building referrals and the improvisational mindset. Many of these services are also available by phone or video conference.

Ryan holds various securities and insurance licenses, as well as the CFP®, CLU, ChFC, CRPC, CMFC and FLMI designations. While he's a financial planning expert, his proven techniques for effective communication apply to all professions. He prides himself in being an “edutainer,” and believes that adding humor and emotion to his talks and training sessions make them more enjoyable and impactful.

He wasn’t always comfortable presenting, but since joining Toastmasters in 1996, Ryan has learned to enjoy sharing ideas with audiences of all sizes; he’s still a proud member and mentor to new clubs. He’s also a professional member of the National Speakers Association.

Ryan created Train 46 for those who want more personalized, private and detailed feedback. He is well versed in how to help inexperienced speakers allay their fears, channel nervousness and play to their natural strengths, and can help seasoned presenters take their communication skills to the next level.

Having presented to thousands of individuals, high-net-worth clients, business owners, non-profits, financial advisors, wholesalers, home office personnel, accountants and attorneys countrywide, Ryan can provide valuable insight into working with these groups. He also has extensive experience working with young adults, and can help them develop strong communication skills at critical formative stages of their lives.

For fun, Ryan performs and teaches improvisational comedy, writes and records original music, and runs long distances. He lives in Charlotte, NC, where he is very active in volunteer work, and he's always happy to lend his time and talents to worthwhile causes. Ryan is a graduate of Bucknell University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He also studied at the Institute of European Studies in Vienna, Austria.
