Gold medal Wrestler, Entrepreneur and Chief teaches Overcoming Adversity. He went from a troubled life and foster homes to win a gold medal at the Commonwealth games. You can live your dreams too!

Nick Ugoalah's story begins in a small village in Nigeria. Arriving in Canada to the cold and snow with a new and unfamiliar language, Nick and his siblings settled with their father and new stepmother in western Canada. Like many immigrants, adjusting to a new culture and society was quite a challenge for Nick. Encountering physical abuse as a teen, he asks social services to remove him from his home. He bounces around in various foster homes until he finds a great home.

However, he established himself immediately as a leader and role model. Nick helped establish the FACS' Bursary Program, a bursary fund for post secondary education, which has now awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to youth in care over the years.

As a world class Olympic Wrestler, Nick is a multiple times Canadian wrestling champion, 2000 and 2004 Olympic trials champion and a Commonwealth games gold medalist. His story comes full circle when he was invited back to Nigeria where he was born, for a great honour - his coronation as Chief Ikuku. Ikuku means 'air,' as in 'air gives life.

In the face of great obstacles, Nick was inspired to overcome them in his quest of his own dreams. Throughout his professional career, many have benefitted from Nick's approach to challenges, revolution in thinking and level of commitment.

When it comes to inspiring an audience towards action, Nick Ugoalah is one of a kind. Sincere and engaging, Nick shares his roadmaps for unleashing high performance with individuals, teams and leaders each year. With a unique sense of humor, insightful story telling, and high performance strategies, Nick takes his audiences on an enlightening and inspiring ride as he both entertains and challenges business leaders and organizations nationally and internationally.
