Paul Tracy

NV, US
Professional Racecar Driver

The pride of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Paul Tracy is easily one of the most charismatic, outspoken and just plain brave auto racers in the world. As a young lad in Canada, Tracy began racing in karts, excelling at Goodwood Kartways up to the age of 16. In 1988 he became the youngest winner of the fiercely fought Canadian Formula Ford Championship. 1990 saw Tracy win the Indy Lights Championship and the following year saw him begin what would be a long odyssey IndyCar racing. Initially a test driver for the premiere Penske Racing organization, Tracy's first full year in the series came in 1993 where he won five races.

For the next decade, Tracy was considered one of the sport's elite, proving just that in 2003 by winning the Champ Car World Series Championship, aka "CART." It is now the summer of 2009 and Paul Tracy, with 31 wins, is considered to be the most successful open wheel driver in North America. Part of the IndyCar series, Tracy has put in time behind the wheel for a number of teams over the past few years, including the Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and KV Racing Technology teams in 2009/2010. A contender in any race he lines up for, Tracy also loves to maniacally drive sand rails and off-road trucks when time permits. In 2010, Paul jumped into the world of reality television with the SPEEDTM production "Battle of the Supercars", a show that takes two of the world's most outrageous "super cars" and puts them through a test of performance on both road and track in head-to-head competition, driving the latest exotics from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.

The new 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series brings a sense of renewed commitment & energy to Paul, in his search for a return to the Winner's Circle...and new challenges as he is signed on to run with a renewed Dragon Racing team, owned by Jay Penske. Finishing 16th in his first event of the season at The Grand Prix of Long Beach, Paul will compete for Dragon at Texas, Toronto, Edmonton, Sonoma and Las Vegas. In addition, Paul made a return to the Indianapolis 500 with past partner Dreyer & Reinbold Racing on May 29th, 2011....and continues racing in the Rolex GrandAm Series in 2012 with Doran Racing.
