Once a terrified flyer, now a flight attendant, survivor, author and speaker, Mary takes her "passengers" "SOARING ABOVE THE TURBULENCE."

Mary Carwile's keynote, "Soaring Above The Turbulence." is a unique, one-of-a-kind presentation.  As a retired flight attendant, Mary presents in her uniform.  After welcoming her audience/passengers aboard, Mary points out the rest rooms and emergency exits then teases them with, "For those of you who brought along excess baggage...we'll deal with that a little later."

Mary's inspirational message is one that cuts right to the heart of life.  All of us experience "turbulence" in our lives.  Mary became a flight attendant at the age of fifty six, even though she was a very fearful flyer and hated being in small spaces.  Overcoming fears is just one of the messages she brings.  With the knowledge she gleaned from training, Mary shares the reasons for the noises and bumps on the plane and humors them with stories known only to those in the airline business.

A show of hands confirms what Mary already knows; there isn't a person alive who hasn't dealt with turbulence/adversity in their lives.  From turbulence in the air to turbulence in life, Mary tells gripping stories from her own experience.   From a shocking divorce, while she was eight months pregnant and the mother of a six year old, to being told...at eleven P.M......that she had breast cancer, her passengers feel the pain then share the joy of moving past the turbulence.

From rough air to sunshine, Mary inspires her passengers and gives concrete ways for them to "fly through" the turbulence in their own lives and "land safely" on solid ground. Her presentation is wrapped in the airline business and Mary uses many analogies during her talk.  When it's time to " land," Mary's powerful conclusion leaves the passengers feeling empowered and ready to take on their own life...turbulence and all.

***Mary offers her two books for sale after her presentation. In her award winning first book,"Heartstrings at 35,000 Feet, True Stories That Will Melt Your Heart," Mary shares stories told to her while flying some 35,000 feet above the earth.  Several stories from this book were published in the New York Times best selling series, Chicken Soup for the Soul. In her second book, "Heartstrings and Pink Ribbons, Finding Comfort Until There's a Cure," Mary shares her own journey as well as that of other women...and one man.  Having her husband and two adult sons write how they felt during her breast cancer experience makes this an especially touching book.  Mary offers wing pins to her audience to remind them of her message. They are inscribed, "IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY ABOVE THE CLOUDS."

Soaring Above the Turbulence

At age 55 when many of her friends were thinking about retirement, Mary accepted a dare to become a flight attendant.  After all, who was going to hire a 55 year old woman, who is terrified to fly and hates closed in spaces? A major airline, that's who!

Mary is a retired flight attendant who presents in her uniform, uses airline analogies to bring her points home. She begins by pointing out the rest rooms and emergency exits and reminds folks that "we'll talk about any...
