Mark Phillips
Behind Mark Phillips' friendly appearance lies a secret - dozens of them actually. One of the country's top comedy sleight-of-hand magicians, for 30+ years he delighted corporate and association audiences as a featured act, headline entertainer and MC. With a dazzling mix of skill and fun, Mark's polished show will continuously defy your audience's expectations. They will marvel at his sleight-of-hand ability in classics like the linking rings and laugh at his comedic ability to improvise a hilarious story using every one of the 52 cards in a deck. Mark was named a "Star of Magic" by The National Theatre in Washington DC, and his appearance at the Kennedy Center prompted the Washington Post to write, "Mark Phillips has skill to burn."
Reared in a military household, Sleight-of-Hand expert Mark Phillips developed a passion for order, discipline, and psychological warfare on his sisters. Though not a music major, Mark tricked a university into giving him a French Horn scholarship. He earned additional money in college by performing regularly at the Phoenix Playboy Club which convinced him show business was much more fun than microbiology.
Phillips has since amazed audiences throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East as well as on board the ships of Cunard and Crystal Cruise lines. Phillips often represents corporations at tradeshows, functioning both as an attraction and a presenter. With over 400 trade shows under his belt, Mark's "live commercials" always stop huge crowds, deliver a memorable message and generate sales leads by the hundreds.
His abilities led one client to call Mark, "a cross between our top salesman and Penn & Teller." Demonstrating his limitless commitment to serve, Mark actually learned German in his 30's to represent his biggest client at the CeBit trade fair. He avidly plays the French Horn, perhaps the most challenging of musical instruments and an example to perfectionists everywhere to "let it go."
