Robert Hayward was born August 23, 1959, the ninth of ten children. Both parents were animators and close friends with Walt Disney, and were responsible for the creation of Pinnochio, Mickey Mouse, The Three Little Pigs, and other classic cartoons. Robert studied at Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, Ca, in the 1970's, and later graduated from Palomar College in San Diego, Ca, with certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. In August of 2000, he was commissioned to design and build the Pacheco Memorial on Palomar Mountain in San Diego County, a monument honoring a fallen Native American Firefighter who lost his life protecting the La Jolla Indian Reservation from a wildland fire. This lead to Haywards dedication to helping other Native Americans with substance abuse problems.

Robert has been studying, writing and speaking about Native American history and religion for over 30 years, and is a published book author. Linked to the Native American community by blood (Ho-Chunk Winnebago), he has been mentored by traditional Medicine Men and Roadmen since his youth. He is a wealth of knowledge on Native American History, with emphasis on the genocide of millions of Indigenous people, and the United States Boarding School and Blood Dilution programs. Robert is a gifted inspirational/educational public speaker, specializing in Native American History and Spirituality, addiction and alcoholism, and the miracle of recovery and spiritual awareness. Talks range from short book-signing promotions to full events with rare Native American video footage and Native history story-telling, with prayer services inside his tipi.
