· Architect of “Close the Gap,” a world class program to reduce disparities in cardiovascular care among African Americans, Latinos and women
· Chair of the Taskforce on the Workforce and Human Rights (led team that developed recommendations and metrics for the long-term strategic direction for the state of Minnesota – Minnesota Policy Blueprint)
· Member of the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Hamline University School of Law (a body that advises the law school dean on strategic direction)
· President of the Minnesota State Board of Education
· Chair of the Board of Education for the Minnesota School of the Deaf
