AI keynote speaker and generational futurist on the future of work, Gen Z to Gen Alpha, and leading through change. Two-time USA TODAY bestselling author.

certified virtual presenter

Ryan Vet is a two-time USA TODAY bestselling author, generational futurist, and AI keynote speaker based in Durham, North Carolina. Leaders bring him in when artificial intelligence, a multigenerational workforce, and constant change start pulling their organizations in different directions. He studies how each generation is formed and what that formation is about to cost or gain the leaders responsible for them. Today that question runs straight through artificial intelligence. Humans formed the machine. Now the machine is forming humans.

Ryan got his start because people wanted to know why Millennials weren't buying houses. Millennials weren't old enough to buy houses yet.

AI is not a new topic for Ryan. He is both an AI practitioner and a researcher. He built his first investor pitch deck around AI in 2010, more than a decade before ChatGPT, when the work meant big data, machine learning, and predictive algorithms sketched on whiteboards. He has since founded four AI-driven startups in real estate, learning management, facial recognition, and more. He has raised the capital, hired the engineers, and shipped the products. Today he conducts original generational research through Izymu and holds current positions in software, hospitality, real estate, and venture capital.

He incorporated his first company at fourteen and has spent more than two decades founding and running businesses, leading teams, including international ones, across all five generations in today's workforce. He has had ventures fail alongside the ones that worked, and he talks about both with the same candor.

His work starts from a premise he calls the Generational Prism: one event refracts differently depending on when you were born, and most of what gets diagnosed as a character problem at work is really a refraction problem. He also created the Generational Pendulum and the Velocity Gap, the distance between how fast a powerful new technology like AI spreads through a culture and how slowly human wisdom, ethics, and guardrails catch up.

His keynotes include Futureproof: What Changes, What Never Will, and How to Lead Through Both; From Human Hesitation to AI Acceleration: Leading with Confidence in the Age of Intelligent Technology; and When Generations Collide: Leadership in a Multi-Generational Workplace. Meeting planners book him for AI and the future of work, generational leadership, change management, workplace culture, and leading a multigenerational workforce, for corporate, association, healthcare, and financial services audiences.

Ryan is the author of Speak Goodr and Cracking the Millennial Code, both USA TODAY bestsellers. He has delivered more than 1,000 live presentations across 45+ states and four continents, is a member of the National Speakers Association Million Dollar Speakers Group, and is an eSpeakers Certified Virtual Presenter (CVP). His writing has appeared in Forbes, and he has been quoted in Fast Company, the Financial Times, and USA TODAY. He hosts The Ryan Vet Show, with 100,000+ YouTube subscribers, and writes the weekly COLLIDE newsletter.

Ryan holds a B.S. from Elon University, an MBA from Purdue University Global, and executive certificates from Harvard Business School and Cornell University.

Your team knows AI is coming. They're just not sure what to do about it. Most organizations are stuck in one of two places: paralyzed by fear or drowning in hype. Five generations now work side by side, and the generational divide isn't a soft problem. It's costing organizations real money in turnover, lost productivity, and missed innovation. But the labels are the least useful part of the conversation.
