Formal Education: Jan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Bachelor of Science in French Education and a Coaching Certificate in 1974. From 1979-80 she studied intensive Spanish at the University of Texas-Austin. She also participated in the rigorous, year-long Professional Coaching Course, a premier offering of New Ventures West, in 2000.
