Derrick Hayes
I had just separated from my ex and I only had $100 in my pocket. I moved to Metro Atlanta to stay with an old friend I grew up with in Illinois. I had no job and no food to eat and I even slept on the floor. Once I begin to network I started to meet interesting people. One person I met in particular help me to find a new way of life, the life of W.O.E.
I already had a unique gift where I could take a person’s name and turn it into a positive message within seconds. I call these Derricknyms. I was laying on the floor thinking over my trials and tribulations one day. Then I saw the word woe and I looked it up in the dictionary and it meant that something negative was happening or about to happen. I heard a voice say turn woe from a negative into a positive. I looked at woe and said it now means Word Of Encouragement. After you read this or go to sleep tonight give someone a W.O.E., give them a Word Of Encouragement.
I had met a friend and we decided that every night before we close out the night or in person that we would give each other a W.O.E. We would use words, quotes, phrases, scriptures, stories, prayers and positive comments to give each other a W.O.E. As time went on I began to see and breakdown words in new ways that transformed life right before my eyes. I even changed the way I gave speeches. I would pass out a handout with a list of words and have the audience break them down. They loved it.
For example:
1.BLESS underline the letter B. Never B Less then what’s expected, always B More
2.IMPOSSIBLE Cross out the M and put it to the left of the I. M.I. Possible means Mission Is Possible
3.ARRIVE Cross out the first R and put it at the end of the word. It will spell out A RIVER. When you arrive on time and with a purpose things in your life will begin to flow just like A RIVER.
In every part of the world there are people in the same position that I was in. I was laying on the floor with no open door. Bring me on air weekly to give your listeners a W.O.E., a Word of Encouragement. Here is what they say about “W.O.E.”.

"I was so moved when I heard Derrick Hayes speak the first time, I figured he was worth hearing again. Within ten minutes I decided that I will have him speak to the entire leadership staff in our department. The second time was better than the first. He really moved them with his positive outlook and approach to life. Many people have their personal Derricknyms posted in their work area."
