Jasey Jay Anderson
An international career which took off in earnest eighteen years ago has catapulted Anderson onto some of the world's most extreme slopes and to numerous podiums in three disciplines of this. At 34, Canadian snowboard expert Anderson of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, is an ongoing trophy machine: Having achieved his ultimate race goal at Cypress Mountain, Vancouver 2010 Olympics, Anderson is in a surreal world at this time in his career.
A recipient of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic snowboard PGS Gold, Anderson is also a twice Gold World Champion, a four-time overall Alpine medalist and a three-time overall SBX medalist.
Anderson is one of the sport's most versatile and intense riders. With his seven FIS coveted crystal globes to his credit, he is at the top of his mountain.
"Jasey began an upward climb of physical training from 1998 through to today. He now has two physical trainers, and even when he is on the road he maintains a rigorous program of off- hill training, diet and stretching. A few of the coaches Jasey has trained with over the last few years were themselves very much into physical fitness, and I think this helped set the trend for Jasey's current attitude towards personal physical maintenance and improvement. A strong athlete makes for a confident athlete."
As someone who is always open to new challenges, Anderson works to continually succeed in overcoming adversity. He frequently comments on the competence of the support teams around him, from the Canadian Snowboard Federation medical and support group to his family and friends, private trainers and technical advisors.
