Anwar Knight
It doesn't matter if he's on TV, the radio, or up on a stage, Anwar Knight is at his best when he's entertaining people. Prominently featured on a number of broadcast outlets, Knight is highly recognized as the weather anchor for CTV News in Toronto, and as the fill-in co-host for Canada AM.
His career started on the comedy stage, where Knight performed all original material weekly at Yuk Yuk's, and also made an appearance at the world-famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His ability to connect with audiences allowed for a smooth transition from the stage to the broadcast booth. He has hosted shows at some of Canada's most successful radio stations, including Ez Rock, Z 103, and Energy 108, and interviewed music's biggest stars, like Avril Lavigne, Mary J Blige, and the Backstreet Boys.
A Humber College journalism grad, Knight took the next step in his creative career and went into TV. He covered major stories for Global Television in Toronto, such as the Air France plane crash at Pearson International Airport, and also made his mark as the co-host of the morning show. His current role as the weather anchor for CTV News in Toronto lets Knight flash his sense of humour and genuine charm.
