During my career, I have literally planned and listened to hundreds of presentations. Your presentation at our February 2015 meeting ranks among the top I have ever heard, period, on this or any other topic. We were impressed with your energy, in-depth understanding and focus on the topic of "Ethics." That topic can be deadly dull. Instead, you turned it into a thought-provoking, high-impact, highly personal message that our attendees can use in both their professional and personal lives. It was also clear that you spent a considerable amount of time customizing the message to meet the needs and the environment of the funeral service profession. I find that fairly unusual for a speaker, and it made a huge impact that you were able to discuss the audience's specific needs.

Chuck's presentation on ethics is both captivating and compelling. Each time I hear him speak, I get a nugget of wisdom that helps me in my daily life! The two sessions Chuck held at the IMA Conference in Hickory, NC captured the audience and took the topics Accounting Ethics and Communication and applied them in a manner that allowed the listeners be active learners. The sessions helped me both professionally and personally. In the days following the conference, I found myself reflecting on the information I gleaned, as both sessions were thought provoking. I look forward to applying what I learned to be a better CPA, Educator, Co-worker, Mother and overall individual.

My personal comments about your presentation: For me, I LOVED your openness and honesty. I also LOVED the fact that you can 'put yourself out there' and be completely vulnerable in front of absolute strangers. From the minute you started walking those '23 steps' up to the stage, I was completely focused on you and your words. You're an amazing speaker and your presentation was funny, serious, honest, sad, touching, and like you said, candid and transparent. One minute I was laughing, and the next minute I had tears….I loved your different 'voices' and sense of humor. Listening to your presentation - I heard things that I needed to hear. The 'way' things happened to you when the 'house of cards fell'….you making so many phone calls trying to find someone to talk to, and when someone did answer the phone, he only did so because he thought it was his wife calling. His words, "You made a mistake, but you're not a mistake". The fact that you don't know who he is, and you can't thank him…..(Maybe someday he'll get to hear you speak….wouldn't that be cool?) The way you met your current wife….The fact that you were so continually honest and open about being a felon….when your son took you to the shooting range, and you were honest in front of him. For me, all of it, everything that you talked about it's absolutely profound, and I have to believe you planted lots of seeds in the minds and hearts of many that heard you speak Thursday morning and afternoon. I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Chuck, The Nu Gamma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi is so appreciative of the time, energy, knowledge, and wisdom that you shared with us this evening. Your presentation was awesome, and students were very engaged. Many students have commented to me that "tonight was great!"

Hi Chuck, just wanted to say that that was the best presentation I've heard in my 10 years working here. My best friends father was a lawyer in town and went through a very similar situation as yours. Well half of it, he chose to end his life just after he got caught before going to jail. Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for coming down that was extremely memorable, very well done and helpful to me personally and to our employees.

Best presentation of the IPT Symposium! Extremely engaging, excellent speaker and poignant story. The fact that he had made a "bad" choice and then turned his life around was inspiring. I thought the three items that align (need, opportunity, and rationalization) which often cause "good" people to make "bad choices: was very insightful and an easy way to remember the topic. The bulls eye slide was also insightful because we don't always think of each of the items as morally or ethically wrong, but his perspective on each layer using examples brought the subject to life for me.

I just wanted to send you a quick "thank you" for the time you spent with our company. We received lots of great feedback and many people have said that it was our best ethics meeting yet! Very exciting stuff!

I felt, just WOW after your presentation. As I listened, I thought that I would love for my teenagers to hear this presentation, then I thought their friends should hear it too, then why stop there - have something at the Broyhill Civic Center for all the high schoolers in the area. Then I thought the State Beta Club Convention would be a great audience for you to speak. Then I remembered that I was in CPE, and thought that all CPAs in the state should hear this, and that you should speak to all CMAs at the National Convention! I appreciate the usefulness of the usual ethics course, but I believe this change up is insightful. I appreciate the honesty with which you spoke. I feel professionals and youth today need to understand that there are repercussions to their actions; but if they fail, they must not give up - they made a mistake, they are not a mistake, as you mentioned! I really enjoyed your CPE presentation! I am not sure exactly who to speak with at my children's school, but I want to pass your information along and see if there is a potential there. Thank you.
