Hello,
My name is John Serpa, (legal name John Moser-Serpa), and I specialize in presenting on topics related to Organizational Effectiveness, Creating Robust and Engaging Business Presentations, Change Management, and Financial Stewardship. My preference is 2-8 hour presentations that can be one-half to one full day in length. It is my firm conviction that all organizations can raise their productivity and competitive advantage simply by harnessing greater levels of engagement from personnel. Hence, this is the subject matter I am most passionate about-engaging people with the strategy and mission of an organization. I accomplish this with thought provoking, multifaceted, and highly engaging presentations. Through symbolism, story telling, metaphors, personal experience, and time-tested wisdom from numerous subject matter experts, I weave a tapestry for the audience, which gives them a concrete reason to believe.
As for my experience, I have spent the last 20 years in the corporate setting, and my current role is at Director level for a biopharmaceutical company based in Rockville, Maryland. In addition, I have undergraduate degrees in life sciences, organizational management, an MBA from Johns Hopkins, and I am currently completing an MS degree in Human Resource Development at Villanova University. Aside from academics, I am also an author and am completing my first book, which is targeted for publication in the second quarter of 2011. The book is approximately 260 pages long and covers various attributes related to organizational, social, and personal environments that can be multipliers for long term sustainable growth and high performance.
From a professional vantage point, I possess expertise in directing improvement initiatives, master planning, employee development, and succession strategies within operations. This includes solid leadership skills that include mentoring and coaching high performing teams, and creating pragmatic blueprints for success that utilize results driven metrics. In short, I have harnessed a keen ability to harmonize best practices and value added core competences across functional groups. When presenting, I take a great deal of time in preparation and consistently receive feedback that I am a highly articulate communicator that effectively facilitates the successful accomplishment of value added deliverables in a fast paced capricious business environment.
