Amanda Mitchell
Amanda Mitchell has focused on behavior change throughout her 20-year career in healthcare communications. She created The O'Keefe Group to serve the specific needs of communications specialists within the pharmaceutical industry.
"Creating powerful communications within a regulated environment is inherently challenging. When you layer in the experts in the different areas-scientists, lawyers, physicians, creative staff, product managers-all working together to create these communications it creates a very complex and challenging environment. We are well-versed in the dynamics of this workplace and focus on providing solutions for our clients-both within pharmaceutical companies and those industries that serve them."
Her belief that it is possible to find career and personal fulfillment within a corporate setting led her to concentrate her own career within the healthcare industry focusing particularly on chronic diseases that affect a disproportionate number of people. "Utilizing the techniques that are proven to help others change their behaviors - particularly destructive ones - moved my advertising work into the public health realm." As a coach, her goal is to support and encourage those who create environments where people can thrive.
A veteran of the advertising industry, she ran divisions within Omnicom and Interpublic working with blue chip clients including Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris and Johnson & Johnson. Her career is dedicated to understanding the motivations and beliefs that drive decisions and to constructing solutions to workplace dilemmas. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, executive career planning and management, managing impact of mergers/joint ventures and navigating career transitions.
A strong proponent of credentialing for coaches, she holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF) the acknowledged global credentialing body for coaches. She is also a Master Certified Career Coach (MCCC) through Career Coach Institute.
In addition to her membership with the ICF, she is also a member of the Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA), National Speakers Association (NSA) and Coachville, in addition to actively supporting Career Coach Institute. Active in many professional organizations dedicated to marketing, business development and leadership, she has a BA in Advertising from Michigan State University.
Due to an unfortunate proclivity toward naming pets after her transitory heroes, she now lives in NJ with Monty Hall and Kirby Puckett.
