Bonnie Bazill-Davis
Bonnie Bazill-DavisDavis knows the importance of speaking out! Her story of personal triumph over childhood sexual abuse and youth homelessness has captivated thousands of childcare professionals, teachers, counselors, foster parents, social workers, congregations and parent groups. Sound depressing? NOT! Her creative presentations incorporate props and humor mixing the serious and the silly to educate, engage, and empower audiences to act on behalf of children.
Bonnie is a former chemical dependency counselor and current certified trainer for the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program traveling throughout the state delivering messages of hope for overcoming sexual trauma. Facing her own experiences as an incest survivor has given her presentations a powerful and unforgettable "real-life" perspective. By working a strong program of recovery over many years, she has achieved peace and healing from a disturbing past.
As a member of the National Speakers Association and Toastmasters International, Bonnie is always perfecting her skills through competitive speaking. Her participation in Toastmaster's motivational and humorous contests resulted in a state-level championship with a ground-breaking speech on sexual abuse. In 2006, she reached a national competitive stage and ultimately ranked in the top 18 speakers of the worldwide communication organization with over 250,000 members.
Bonnie specializes in speaking and training for child abuse recognition, personal touching safety, teen runaway issues, overcoming trauma, inspiration, motivation, and yes...humor. Her evaluations and testimonials are stellar, and it is not uncommon for a participant to say, "I have been in my profession for 22 years, and taken child abuse classes many times, this is the ABSOLUTE BEST!"
When she is not delivering life-saving messages, Bonnie is engaged in her most important role in life as that of mother, advisor, and periodic nag to her two school-age children and husband Steve of 25 years.
