Douglas E. Noll, J.D., M.A. maintains an active international workshop and keynote speaking schedule on the topics of communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, negotiation, and leadership. Since leaving the practice of law in 2000, Mr. Noll has devoted himself to service as a high conflict mediator, teacher, trainer, mentor, author, and speaker.

He is an adjunct professor of law at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Pepperdine School of Law. In addition to his law degree, he has a Masters Degree in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies. Mr. Noll has been voted as one of the Best Lawyers in America in 2005, by US News & World Report, and is recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators and on the American Arbitration Association panel of mediators and arbitrators. He is one of a handful of American mediators listed in the Who's Who of International Commercial Mediators.

In 2012, Mr. Noll was honored as California Attorney of the Year for his work teaching murderers to be peacemakers in California maximum security prisons. He has trained over 500 life inmates in men's and women's prisons to be peacemakers and mediators.  In 2014, Mr. Noll was recognized as a Purpose Prize Fellow by encore.org.

He is the creator of Negotiation Mastery for the Legal Pro, an on-line legal negotiation training course, and De-Escalate an online course in deep, empathic listening.

He is the author of De-Escalate: How to Calm an Angry Person in 90 Econds or Less (Beyond Wrods/Simon & Schuster, 2017).

In addition, Mr. Noll has authored or co-authored three other books and, numerous articles on peacemaking, restorative justice, conflict resolution and mediation.  

Mr. Noll is  a second degree black belt  and tai chi instructor. He has a variety of other interests and accomplishments including jazz violin, aircraft pilot, Level III ski instructor,  and whitewater rafter. He makes his home with his wife Aleya Dao in the foothills of Sierra Nevada between Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks.

This is Doug's most powerful two day workshop. Participants learn how to de-escalate angry or emotional peers, superiors, or subordinates in 90 seconds or less.
