He is the primary author and editor of several widely used books, widely considered to be “the bibles” of managed care: The Essentials of Managed Health Care, Fifth Edition, published by Jones & Bartlett in March of 2007, and Managed Care: What it Is and How it Works, Second Edition. The Third Edition of that book is scheduled for publication in the fall of 2008. He is also a frequent contributor to various publications and a frequent speaker and presenter at industry conferences and client-sponsored events. Dr. Kongstvedt a board-certified internist and received his B. Sc. and M. D. degrees as well as his internal medicine training at the University of Wisconsin.
