about Neil Wyrick

Few bring to the One Man Drama field the artistic and creative background of Neil Wyrick.  He has written and directed five films and television specials.  The late Frank Wright, Palm Beach, Florida, voted Outstanding Program Chairman by the Platform Association International, said of his dramatic talents, "Well, may be the new, and better, Hal Holbrook.  When Neil enters, in costume and with the walk and talk of the characters he portrays, it is more than a presentation.  It is an experience.  His ability to stay in character not just during his monologue but while fielding questions from the audience, both about his time and the present century in which he finds himself, has been called "masterful."

Since 2009 is the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln and will be widely celebrated across the United States, he is presently featuring this drama.  He also portrays Ben Franklin (he wrote, directed and was featured in a film for the Printing Industry of North Carolina) Christopher Columbus and Teddy Roosevelt.  "Spellbinding..." wrote William Garland, Printing Industry of NC.  "...more of a sensation than any other program I have brought to campus in the three years that I have run the Artist Series" penned C.A. Olsen, Chairman, Artist Series, Asbury College, Asbury, KY.  The comments are endless, "Plays his characters with convincing expertness...his dramatic ability brings his audience to their feet." Daily Northwestern, Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

His Abraham Lincoln One Man Drama is featured in a film with flashbacks of the Civil War and demonstrates Neil's particular ability to make one believe they are actually watching old Abe come back to life in the 21st century.  In his live dramatizations he takes his Q & A sessions to a new level.  While always in character, he takes questions not only about his time but also about the 21st century in which he finds himself.  Neil has traveled the United States and much of the world with his dramas.

Neil has had nine books and 100's of magazine articles published.  For twenty years he wrote a weekly newspaper column entitled "THE WHY OF IT ALL".  Currrently he writes a syndicated newspaper column for Clearmountain Syndicate.  He is President/Founder of Pageantry, Inc. and has produced numerous pageants in the Orange Bowl, Miami, Florida; both secular and sacred.  In 1962, he received the J.C's Outstanding Citizen's Award.  Neil is lsited in "Who Who in America", "Who's Who in the South", "Contemporary Authors", "Historical Records Association" and in the 1967 edition of "Outstanding Personalities of the South."  As a professional artist he has had art works in three Miami galleries, has been illustrator and cartoonist for three books and his own newspaper column.  He was moderator of three radio programs, Family Line, Young Miami Speaks and Rap Around, all aired over WKAT (CBS) in Miami, Florida, and was moderator of the television series Man to Man on Miami's PBS satation.

Neil, also, in his One Man Dramatizations portrays Teddy Roosevel, Christopher Columbus and Benjamin Franklin.

Neil has traveled extensively throughout all fifty states, in England, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Israel, Greece, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Columbia, Venezuela, China and Panama.

He is an avid tennis player. He has had a private pilot's license and a glider rating and regretfully admits  (after many successful flights) to having crashed a hang glider.
