Joe Rhea
Joe Rhea never played in the NFL. He never even played college football. But he's just as big a hero to many as all-time greats like Joe Montana, Dan Marino and Brett Favre. And as he likes to say, he's "Not your average Joe." At the age of 14, on September 11th, 1984 Rhea sustained a broken neck on the football field and was paralyzed from the neck down. The doctors said he would never walk again. End of story, right? Wrong. Not only is Joe Rhea no longer in a wheelchair, but he walks, runs and skis, much to the amazement of doctors. Rhea's inspirational story has helped countless others overcome devastating injuries and lead a full life. Through the Kansas City-based Think First National Injury Prevention Foundation, Rhea has shared his story with thousands of people around the world.
There are countless quality speakers out there to pick from, but few can match the impact and inspirational message of a Joe Rhea speaker appearance.
Many would consider it remarkable that a Joe Rhea appearance can occur without a wheelchair, but he has much more to share than just his story of learning to walk again.
"The speaker is happy to discuss fee consideration for non-profit, youth and health-care organizations."
"If you are looking for someone that will remind us of how blessed we are, how grateful we should be and of what it takes to go out and be successful every day, then it is without hesitation that I recommend Joe Rhea to you and your staff. I know he will do for you what he did for us." ~Ed Fanning, Feist Publications
Joe your story is truly inspiring. It is compassionate and compelling, and without a doubt leaves people feeling like they can achieve what they aim for. ~ Frank White KC Royals Hall of Fame
"I respect your honor and courage. You have a great heart and people will be changed because of your story." ~ Rudy Ruettiger, President of Rudy International and subject of the motion picture, "Rudy."
"Thanks for your OUTSTANDING presentation. I heard today that last night may well have been the best annual mtg that Tri-County has had in its 25 year life! I will be on the look out for additional opportunities for us to collaborate. I told James at Fivestar Speakers that you will be a tough act to follow, so to just clone you, and that we will be set for next year. " Tom Cranshaw, CEO, Tri-County Mental Health
"Joe Rhea is truly a dynamic speaker with an inspirational message whom I highly recommend. We invited Joe to speak with our incoming freshman student-athletes this August at our Student-Athlete Orientation and Joe did a phenomenal job. He is extremely engaging, uses impactful media and tells a truly heartfelt personal story." Jean Boyd, Associate Athletic Director, Arizona State
