About timezones in your iCalendar feed

You can export your events, client calls and travel plans from EventCX into your desktop or mobile calendar program using an iCalendar feed.

When viewing the linked calendar on your desktop or mobile calendar (iOS, Android, Google Calendar, Outlook, Mac Calendar, etc..) your EventCX items should be displayed with the same date and time you see on those same items in EventCX, adjusted for the time zone your computer is set to. If you're seeing unexpected times in your calendar program it's likely due to the way time zones are handled.

Read this article to understand how timezones are translated from EventCX to your calendar program through the iCalendar feed.

There are 2 places time zones are set

There are two places that time zones are set for an event or client call:
  1. On the event's stage time
  2. On the physical computer or mobile device where you're viewing the calendar program

How the 2 time zones interact

When you set a timezone on the event's stage time (recommended practiced), the event is locked to that time zone. Your calendar program should adjust the displayed time based on the time zone the computer is physically in (or is set to).
When you leave the event's stage time as "local time", the time "floats" to whatever time zone you are in when you view it. If you set it as 2:00pm for "local time", you calendar will display it as 2:00pm no matter what time zone your computer is set for.
