About Karen Clark

  • My experience – As a pioneer in using technology in the industry, I spent 12 years in the field. I've seen and done it all both online and in a traditional in-home party business, leading a large organization. I speak the language of direct sales, having taken the company to the Internet across the USA and rising through the ranks from Consultant to top Director to Corporate trainer, until leaving that company to operate independently as a social media speaker since 2009. If you are looking for a presenter who is not enrolled in or employed by any one direct selling company, I'd love to work with you.

  • My impact – I empower home based entrepreneurs to focus, to be more efficient and to get results fast using strategies and tactics they can immediately implement following–or sometimes during–your event. My emphasis is on inspiring direct sellers to truly connect with people online and then to continue relationship building in a combination of both new and traditional methods, not simply to collect people to sell to.

Taking my own direct selling business to the highest level of the compensation in less than seven years was just the start. As the Director of Consultant Development for the corporation, I created training programs for the entire field for five years before leaving the company and founding My Business Presence. I have practical experience in the field and stay in touch with my extensive network of direct sales consultants, giving me a unique ability to relate to my audiences–I've been there and understand their needs!

As a fierce advocate for empowering women entrepreneurs and the direct selling industry through technology, I have been honored with two Direct Selling Women's Alliance (DSWA) awards–the Spirit Award in 2008 and the Ambassador of the Year award in 2010. I am dedicated to helping all entrepreneurs and independent direct sales representatives uplift their reputations as they learn smart and ethical Internet marketing strategies.

My book series, Social Media for Direct Selling includes the 1st edtion, Social Media for Direct Selling Representatives–Ethical and Effective Online Marketing, and the forthcoming Social Media for Direct Selling Leaders–Marketing, Support & Communication. In 2017 I will also publish a generic version, Social Media for Small Business Entrepreneurs. Currently booking speaking engagements for 2016 within the direct selling industry and for 2017 among direct sellers and more general entrepreneurial and women's events.
