Bubba Blackwell Has broken all of his childhood hero Evel Knievel records, Using the same type Harley-Davidson motorcycle and same size ramps. Born in the south to struggling parents, James Claude "Bubba" Blackwell went to 14 different schools, and lived in so many different places he dare not even try to count. Riding his bicycle to try and find some consistancy in life, he often would jump garbage cans and day dream of being the Iconic Daredevil performer he often saw on TV. They lived on a very limited budget when his great grandmother was involved in a driving accident. No longer able to work, Bubba had to quit school and get a job to help pay bills. Determined, the same day he quit school, Bubba enrolled in Pensacola Junior College adult continuation course. Bubba never missed a night of school and fulfilled the promise to himseld by Graduating High School.
Determined to make a career riding a motorcycle, Bubba first thought racing would be the way and actually became the 1988 AMA/CCS Heavyweight Superbike national champion. After a series of crashes and the obvious finacial setbacks, Bubba reevaluated his efforts...
Harley-Davidson motorcycles were becoming very popular, Bubba seemed to see the writing on the wall... Evel Knievel was the most iconic name in motorcycling, and he'd been away from performing. Bubba thought the time was right to reintroduce Showmanship and Entertainment to the world of Harley-Davidson.
Starting from absolute ZERO money, Bubba shares his incredible journey from a barrowed motorcycle to perform his first jump, buying a broken down truck, and rebuilding the engine to be his first tow vehicle, to his incredible ride of countless TV show appearances including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and touring the world for his sponsor Harley-Davidson.
