Combat Veteran / Founder/CEO - FIX'D Inc. Veteran Service Org. / USAF Wounded Warrior Ambassador / Combat Peer Support & Substance Abuse Counselor / Suicide Interventionist / Resilience Expert

Most people who meet Jaime typically use one word to describe him, tenacious. His tenacity is infectious! His tenacious leadership style creates a culture of confidence that motivates everyone around him. It has worked on the battlefield and in the boardroom.

Air Force combat Veteran TSgt. Jaime Medina served with distinction for 17 years in one of the most dangerous career fields in the military. That distinction earned him 24 medals including three Bronze Star Medals, multiple Army and Air Force Commendation awards with Valor, Air Force, and Army Combat Badges. That abruptly changed when he was diagnosed or labeled "disabled" by the Veterans Affairs Administration. Devastated by this news, Jaime developed a series of personal challenges with addictive substances and began a four-year daily regime of self-medication, denial, and destruction. He lost his identity. His friends and family were heartbroken; watching him deteriorate before their eyes. They tried their best to suggest he seek assistance.

Jaime's unit and a few friends came to his aide. They wouldn't give up on him, no matter how isolated he had become. Jaime checked himself into the V.A. Palo Alto's Emergency room. There he spent the next 7 months attending a rigorous inpatient rehabilitation and Men's poly-trauma programs, graduating to an extensive outpatient therapy program lasting two years. He was medically retired for chronic, severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) multiple traumatic brain injuries, mild deafness, and seven degenerative disks in his back.

Since getting himself fixed, Jaime believes he has a duty and obligation to do more. Today he is the Founder/CEO of FIX'D Inc. www.fixdinc.org Veterans Service Organization. FIX'D specializes in mental health and counseling for Veterans in the criminal justice system, specifically those engaged in Veterans Treatment Court.
Hearing his story of perseverance, vulnerability, and purpose through service will motivate you to keep moving forward during the most difficult times. You'll keep moving forward with tenacity!

KEEP MOVING FORWARD

Jaime served with distinction in one of the most dangerous career fields within our military. That distinction earned him 24 medals including three bronze stars, commendation, and combat badges. It wasn't in the Triangle of Death in Iraq nor the Korengal Valley of Death in Afghanistan where he met his most difficult challenge. It was here at home while transitioning back into civilian life. Nothing made sense, ongoing headaches and paranoia led to self-medication. His story is of loss and...

One thing we can always count on is your buddy Murphy (Murphy's Law) will show up at some point during any operation.  Don't worry, just PACE yourself.

PACE is an acronym for Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency. A...
