Gregory Offner is a former dueling pianist turned author, workforce strategist, and award-winning keynote speaker. He is the founding partner of the Global Performance Institute, a boutique consulting firm supporting organizations and executives seeking to get the most out of their workforce.
In 2015 a devastating injury left Gregory unable to use his voice. Facing the possibility of permanent voice loss, he underwent 15 surgeries to repair the damage, but each surgery required weeks of complete silence to facilitate healing. Along the way, unable to fully use his voice, Gregory lost both his job as an entertainer, and his corporate “day-job.”
Rather than give up he got curious, seeking to understand why—despite losing both jobs—he was only upset about losing one of them. That event became the catalyst for a deep dive into the processes and experience behind both jobs, and the discovery of key elements present in the job he missed, but absent from the other. These became the three principles of The Tip Jar Culture.
Those principles are the foundation of the work he now does helping organizations and their leaders create a culture that fosters the engagement, excitement, and retention of talented workers.
