About Marie-Helene

Marie-Helene is a bilingual, practicing psychologist and experienced senior business leader with over 20 years of experience in clinical counselling and workplace psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC; Canada) and an MBA from the UBC Sauder School of Business.

She's a Member of the Global Clinical Practice Network of the World Health Organization, Director on the board of International Association of Applied Psychology and past director on the board of the Canadian Psychological Association. She has presented and authored and co-authored a number of industry and academic publications and was won numerous academic and industry awards in mental health, including the Industry Leadership Award from Benefits Canada.

As a keynote speaker, trainer and panel moderator, Dr. Pelletier draws on her extensive background in corporate, insurance, governance and public sectors to bring national and international perspectives and expertise on mental health. She combines psychological research, clinical practice experience, and business management expertise to create presentations that inspire participants to take action.

She's a high-energy speaker with a clear mastery of her subject, a passion for the wellbeing of others, and a great and very welcome sense of humour. 

Background

Dr. Pelletier was born in Quebec City, Quebec, and now lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She began her career in Northern Quebec, gaining experience in a variety of areas of applied psychology and mental health, including resilience and workplace health.

She moved to British Columbia to do her PhD, with a growing interest in the interaction between business and mental health. She completed an MBA and took on management roles and moved successively into more senior leadership positions, ultimately as assistant Vice-President Workplace Health at Sun Life Financial.

She now leads an advisory, psychology and speaking practice, a role that combines her passion for promoting the science and practice of applied psychology and mental health and bringing it to the workplace.

Her first book, The Resilience Plan: A Strategic Approach to Optimize Your Work and Health, is coming February 6, 2024.
