Dr. Miller serves on the board of governors of the University of Southern California, is an advisor for Junior League of Seattle and Women Business Owners, sits on the board of Friends of the Orphans, and belongs to the Seattle Rotary. She was awarded the Helen Thayer, Woman of the Year Award in 2002 and been voted Volunteer of the Year twice for her work with the YMCA.

Dr. Miller earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Seattle University and holds adjunct professorships at Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, and Western Washington University. She is also a visiting professor at the University of Washington.

Though her team of certified writing trainers and coaches live around the country, Dr. Miller calls home Seattle, Washington.
