John Drysdale
I am privileged to work with leaders and teams, helping them to be consistently better than average: to be the best versions of themselves they can be. I am on a quest to inspire people to think better, behave differently and to stand out. I want people to find their own purpose or cause and to stop organisations and sectors draining their confidence away.
My own confidence drained away in my formative years. I really didn't think I was good at anything and so I settled for average. Falling into average jobs, doing an average job in the oil sector, working in foreign environments in pursuit of money. I was not connecting with my core purpose or discovering what I was really good at.
Somebody must have spotted something in me and one day I got the chance to do something different – to be the trainer. I can remember the excitement (and fear) the first time I stood up in front of a group. I needed to give them knowledge, involve them and send them away with a clear plan. For the first time in my adult life I got feedback - positive feedback. I finally discovered I was good at something, that I didn't need to be average.
This led me to a successful career in Training & Development and over the years I worked in Telecomms delivering customer service, sales and leadership development before a stint in Educational Services. Finally I set up my own consultancy, No Guru based in Liverpool UK. This, like everything in life has been a huge learning curve. Over the years I have been fortunate to work with British Gas Business, Capita, Accenture, Warburtons and more recently I have moved into the Higher Education sector working with some of the leading Universities in the UK.
My other passion is in supporting small businesses to grow and I was Programme Director for a government backed programme that gave business owners the confidence to LEAD (the name of the programme) with tangible results and major success stories.
That is my guiding purpose now whenever I work with people, whether in large organisations or running their own businesses. I want them to have a clearer shot at success than was visible to me in the early part of my career. I want them to be the best and not settle for average.
I would be delighted to talk to you about your event and how I can help your audience be the very best they can be.
Thank you.

Many of us drift through life without really connecting to our core purpose or fully understanding our drivers, values and beliefs. Making this connection can...
Networking for people who hate Networking
Building relationships and networking made easy
For many people the idea of 'networking' fills them with dread. For people with a more introverted nature, the whole experience can be energy sapping and awkward.
But there is no need to feel that way. In truth, networking can be a fulfilling and even enjoyable activity. The good news for introverts is that they often make excellent networkers (I will explain why on the session).
Technology...
TeamThink!
How do Teams think? Well mostly ... they don't!
That's not because they don't want to or aren't capable of good thinking. It's because there is generally no agreed process for really clever people to think together, coupled with the fact that most organisational environments do not support 'thinking excellence'.
Having worked with senior and leadership teams over the...

It's not about PowerPoint
Being asked to deliver a presentation is a huge opportunity, whether it is to win a job or a contract, or just to promote yourself or what you do. So many people waste this opportunity and hide behind a deck of slides. Most audiences are bored with slides. We have all heard the phrase 'death by PowerPoint' yet many presenters relegate themselves to the role of 'clicker' rather than 'presenter'.
There's a reason why...
