Are you missing out on the most powerful way to help customers understand your value? A short video clip of you in action is the best way to show meeting planners what you can do for them. Your Marketplace account includes hosting of 1 or more video clips, for a generous total of up to 30 minutes.

As an added bonus, the clips you have on your Marketplace profile can be added to your own website without a webmaster and without paying any extra hosting fees to your web host. Just copy & paste our video theater plugin into a page on your website, and voila!

coming soon: built-in file upload service will make it easier than ever to get your file to us

Step One

Digitize the video(s) using the compatible Marketplace specifications (link below).

We use Flash video for the best quality and widest compatibilty for the people viewing your clip.

You can upload as many clips as you'd like for a total of up to 30 minutes.

Required video specs

  • Flash FLV file
  • width: 300 pixels
  • height: 224 pixels
  • framerate: 30 or 24 fps
  • video bitrate: 300 kbits/sec (37 kBytes/s)
  • audio bitrate: 64 kbits/sec (8 kBytes/s)
  • must be compatible with Flash 8
  • resultant file should end with .flv

Your files must match these specifications exactly to be compatible with your Marketplace profile.

Step Two

Send the digitized file(s) to us through the free Pando service.

Send them to video -at- espeakers.com (you know how to translate that to an email address; we're trying to avoid spam rovers).

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What does the video look like?

(make sure your popup-blocker isn't overprotective)
    Scott McKain view sample
    Linda Larsen view sample
    Willie Jolley view sample

  2. When I use your digitizing service, how long does it take once I send you the video?

2 weeks (but a box of cookies in the package can usually get you down to a week :)

  3. If I do the file myself and send it to you, how long will it take to show up on my profile?

    1 week

  4. If I digitize a video myself and discover a problem with the video and send a replacement file, will I have to pay the upload fee again?

If you catch the problem and get us a replacement file before we've posted the video to your profile, then we'll be happy to use the revised clip and only charge a single upload fee. If we've already taken the time to vet your video and post it to your profile (we have to check each individual video for appropriateness, as it may be displayed on the websites of our bureau or association partners) , then you'll need to pay the upload fee again. Good thing it's a small fee!

  5. I have streaming video on my website already. Can I just use that?

No. Because your video may be played through bureau websites, it must have the same size, shape, and quality as all the other speaker video clips on the site. Bureaus need the videos to be consistent when shoppers click around on their website.

  6. Can I use the Marketplace clips on my own website?

Yes. No need to pay your web host extra for streaming video. Just copy and paste the Video Theater Plugin into a page on your website and you'll have great streaming video. Takes about 2 minutes for you or your webmaster to do. You can find the plugin code by logging into Marketplace and clicking 'SITE TOOLS' and then 'WEB SITE PLUGINS'.

Using the plugin is the simplest and safest way, but if your webmaster would prefer to link directly to an individual video, that's possible, too. The URL looks like: http://marketplace.espeakers.com/movie.php?sid=XXX&aid=XXXXXX -- your webmaster can look at the code generated by the plugin to your specific numbers to fill in for the Xs.

  7. How can I change the video's title or remove the video?

Once a clip is on your profile, you're in control. You can edit the title, or remove the clip. Log into Marketplace and click the 'MULTIMEDIA' tab. Find your clip in the 'video' section and click 'edit' to change the title. If you want to remove the clip, use the 'delete' button (there's no 'undo', so be sure that's what you what).

  8. I digitized it myself, and it looks awful. Is that how it is supposed to look?

Probably not. Compare your clip to the samples -- if it's noticeably worse, then one or more of the specifications (see box above) is off -- double check and try again. One of the most common mistakes to confuse kilobits with kilobytes.

  9. How do I log into Marketplace to manage my video clips?

Start at the eSpeakers homepage. Log in with your login id and password; if you need those sent to you, use this form. Once you've logged in, choose Marketplace from the menu.

  10. How do I digitize more than one clip, and how much does that cost?

When you send in your media for digitizing, the order form has slots to indicate segments you'd like extracted. You indicate a 'time in' and 'time out' for each clip. The first cut is included, additional segments cost $20 each. You can send more than one piece of media (DVD, etc) in the package from which to extract cuts.

If you are digitizing the files yourself, just create and send as many .flv files as you wish. The one-time upload fee applies to each clip.
